On July 12, 2019, on my way to Centralia, Pennsylvania, I rolled into the nearby township of Frackville. Quite by accident, I happened upon a huge statue of a woman holding a pie and a child holding a headless doll. The “giant pie lady” stood atop a table, boosting her incredible height. She could easily peer into a second story window of the building behind her.
I don’t know her story. I don’t know what she was constructed from — maybe fabric or fiberglass covered with resin.
I don’t know why her child is holding a headless doll.
Yesterday, a photo appeared on Facebook of the giant pie lady. Her salmon-pink and mustard-yellow clothes were painted to be blue and white. The child’s garments are now Wolverine-yellow and blue. The doll is still headless.
To whom it may concern: please add a head to the doll.
